Which Oil is Best for Cooking | xHERciser/NGF NOMI

Oils are very important source of fatty acids or good fats.

And as important are proteins and carbohydrates for a balanced diet,

Similarly good fats are important for us because dietary fats help in nutrient absorption in our body,

To develop our nervous system and to provide energy to our body.

And cooking oils are also part of the dietary fats.

But as you take care of your food, do you also take care of the oil you are using?

Because cooking oil is such an ingredient which we use in almost every meal preparation.

But unknowingly, we sometimes use such oils which are very harmful for our helth.

So welcome to Xherciser and this is NGF NOMI.

And in today's post, I'll be telling you about those cooking oils which

you can use in your kitchen and they also have health benefits.

And some oils which you should throw out of your kitchen.

So let's start our post.

Mostly people use vegetable oils at home like sunflower, Safflower, rice bran, Canola

But do you know that all these oils are refined oils and we buy them after watching attractive advertisement

And also they are cheap in price. But will you compromise with your health for this?

No! That's why from today onwards, stop consuming all these refined oils

because for the preparation of refined oils,

When oil is extracted from the seeds, very high temperature is used

because of which fatty acids breaks down and become trans fats

Which are very harmful for your health and to neutralize the taste and smell of these oils,

Chemical processing is done because of which they loose their vitamins and minerals.

So the oils you were using, thinking that they will benefit your health,

Actually these vegetable or refined oils are harmful for you.

So now you'll think that if not refined then what?

So let's discuss about those options.

Before going on the options, you should know that which oil should be used for which type if cooking.

And that depends on its smoking point. That means that temperature,

on which oil burns completely and release free radicals

Which are very harmful for your health. So you should be aware about the smoking point of cooking oil.

So that you can use that accordingly.

As nowadays, olive oil is in discussion so I'll also suggest you that.

But I would recommend Extra virgin olive oil because that is prepared by using cold pressed Olives.

That means without any chemical processing and heat, Olive's are pressed and the oil is separated from the pulp.

So it is 100% natural and one of the healthiest options and olive oil is full of anti oxidants.

It contains many anti inflammatory properties. It's also rich in good fats.

So it increases your good cholesterol and is definitely very useful for your heart health.

Just the smoking point of olive oil is relatively low, so I'll suggest you not to use olive oil in deep frying.

But otherwise, medium and low heat cooking or for Salads, pasta, dressing, it is one of the best options.

Second oil which you can use in your kitchen is Ghee.

Now you'll say that Ghee makes you fat. But this is not true.

You should know that ghee is a powerhouse of nutrients.

It is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin A, E, K.

Ghee is very good for your digestion and brain health.

In fact it has much higher smoking point than most of the cooking oils.

So it is very suitable for Indian cooking. In fact you can use it for deep frying as well without any harmful effect.

Although, I won't recommend you to eat much fried food.

Ghee have many health benefits but remember that because it falls in the category of saturated fats,

So if you'll consume this in moderation, then definitely you'll get benefits out of this.

And it is also getting used since a long time in our kitchens.

It is one of the preferred cooking oils. It improves your blood circulation,

and saves you from digestive track infection.

It contains anti fungal components so that's why we use it in pickles as well.

It is a natural stimulant which boosts metabolism and is also very good for your skin.

And smoking point of mustard oil is very high so it is suitable for all types of cookings.

While buying, keep in mind that you don't buy refined mustard oil.

You have to buy cold pressed mustard oil (kacchi ghani).

It is one of the best options for cooking as well

But don't buy commercial quality coconut oil. You have to use virgin coconut oil.

And it have many health benefits. It is rich in Lauric acid which is very good for your heart health.

It contains anti microbial properties and it also delays your skin ageing.

Many controversies were there that we should not consume coconut oil

because it is very high in saturated fats

But in fact it contains Medium chain triglycerides which resist the fat storage.

Smoking point of coconut oil is also high. This means you can use this also in any type of cooking.

It just have strong smell and taste so you might take some time to develop it's taste.

But definitely, if you'll use this in your cooking, so you'll feel many health benefits.

Before ending the post, let's take a quick relook.

You should not use eorefined oils so stop using those from today itself.

You can use olive oil, ghee, mustard or coconut oil.

But apart from these, there are some healthy oils which you might be using.

I selected these 4 oils because these are easily available in indian markets and it suits Indian kitchen's cooking.

At the same time, I would like to say that don't use a single oil.

Keep all these 4 oils in your kitchen and use these oils according to your cooking.

So this was today's post, I hope you liked it and this will might helped you.

Thanks for reading. Keep loving, keep supporting.

I'll be back with the next post very soon and as I always say
